Coronavirus – Preparing to welcome you back.

We hope that you and your family are well and have avoided the worst impacts of the Corona Virus pandemic; we have missed you! As you can probably imagine, we have been very heavily impacted, but we all have our health and are very thankful for that. Slowly but surely, thoughts are turning to how we emerge from lockdown and adapt to living with Covid 19.
Following the Scottish Government’s announcement last week, we will be coming out of the lockdown in four phases. Self catering is included in Phase 3. At present there is no way of knowing when we will enter Phase 3 but the lockdown process has to be reviewed by the government every 3 weeks.
We are currently considering how the business can operate post lockdown, looking as a priority at the safety of our guests, our staff and our community; adapting our cleaning regime to ensure that the most robust controls are put in place to maintain hygiene and incorporating social distancing measures for all. We don’t want to achieve the minimum standards, we want to do everything we can to make this the safest possible environment.
To this end, when we are able to re-open, your experience is going to be different. In truth we don’t know exactly what this is going to look like yet as guidance and regulation is constantly evolving For instance, at the time of writing, we think shared spaces such as the Games Room and Pool will have to remain closed; soft furnishings, cushions, throws, games, books etc. will have to be removed from properties; dogs will have to remain on leads; staff will be unable to welcome you personally to Tomich and will wear face masks on site and we will have to communicate with you by social media or email.
However we are excited about welcoming you back and the beauty of self catering is that once you are inside your property, you as a visitor can control the environment in which you are living for the duration of your holiday. Tomich Holidays is situated in a small rural location which makes it easy to maintain social distance whilst going about your daily life. To date, there have been no known cases of Covid 19 in Tomich and with your help to socially distance, we know that we can ensure that our local community is protected to the best of everyone’s ability. There is still much for you to enjoy whilst you stay in Tomich, the walking, the forests, the lochs, the cycling, the nature, the very freshest of air, enabling you to engage with the natural environment in a new and exciting way.
We are currently operating a waiting list for holidays during August, as we wait to see what the next steps from the Scottish Government will be. If you are already booked to stay in August, your full payment will only be due once we know that we are definitely able to open. If you have paid in full and we are not able to open in August, then your booking will be transferred to a mutually agreeable date either later in 2020 or into 2021. Please check availability at www.tomich-holidays.co.uk
In all cases whether travelling from abroad or within the UK, you should now review your insurance position and make sure that you have adequate holiday insurance cover in the event of a further outbreak.
We cannot thank you enough for being so patient with us as we have worked over the last 10 weeks with the various tourist associations to overcome the obstacles and challenges that the Coronavirus has presented us. We are sure that our ‘new normal’ will mean that you are able to relax and enjoy your holiday with us in Tomich and we cant wait to see you (from over 2 metres away).
We look forward to seeing you just as soon as we can.
